Pale blue short-sleeved kimono for a married woman decorated with a printed cream pattern, and embroidered detailing. The silk gauze is lined with a tabby-woven, cream-coloured linen. The inside of the collar, and the hems of the (short) sleeves are lined with tabby-woven, orange silk. The pattern consists of a landscape with chrysanthemums, pine branches, cherry blossoms, bamboo, water, fencing and sky. Most of the embroidery picks out elements of the printed pattern. The hat and staff at the bottom right hand side, and the twig broom and rake on the back are only embroidered. Most of the embroidery is done in satin stitch in orange, and 2 shades of green, with some couching in gold-coloured, metal-wrapped thread. The design on the silk appears to have been signed (see inside of collar).
