figure (art)

Ceramic figurine of a man on a donkey, glazed and painted. The man is probably Nasr Eddin Hoja and wears a green turban (sign of a pilgrimage to Mecca) around a blue, pointed cap; a white robe and green sash, and long black boots. His right hand is across his chest in greeting, and he has a full black beard and moustache and a smiling expression. He sits astride a small grey donkey with black tipped ears and eyes, black bridle and reins, and a tight brown saddle blanket. The base is painted black, green and yellow.
