oil lamp (lamp (lighting devices))

Oil lamp and candlestick, painted and glazed ceramic. An elongated ‘boat/shoe’ shape with low sides and upturned front, with a candle holder rising from the back; flat base. Painted with a band of floral motifs in pale and dark-blue on white, and outlined in pale blue on the rim. A traditional shape for an oil lamp. See another example in HM pre-1998 collection (not identified).
