Oboe. Boxwood body. Two silver keys. Keys have circular flat flaps with leather pads and are held within two block mounts (one rounded and one square). Upper joint has combined 'baluster' top. Each joint is stamped: ROBERT/COTTON/LONDON; Paper label attached to upper joint has written in D.J. Blaikley's hand: 66 OBOE/BOXWOOD-2/FLAT SILVER KEYS/ABOUT 1800
