

Temple hanging from the Dai people, made of white cotton with horizontal bands of patterning in supplementary weft in red and black cotton yarn. The bands are symmetrical about the central horizontal axis, and include a narrow band of script in black closest to the centre, a wider band depcting a pair of opposed peacocks in red, a wider band depicting a pair of opposed elephants in black with howdahs on their backs and a tree motif between and a row of pairs of horses linked by a human figure closest to the warp ends, which are fringed.
