

Breast cloth, based on a geringsing design, handwoven from a warp of commercially spun maroon cotton yarn, dyed in artificial dyestuffs, the main design in weft ikat of beige, brown and maroon yarn which may be homespun. This design is more or less symmetrical along the longitudinal axis, consisting of five repeating bands, and another band of smaller motifs at each end in a slightly darker colour.
