Shadow puppet of carved and painted leather depicting the panasar or servant Delem, with black goatskin tuft on the top of his head. His body is short and round, and the flesh areas are painted pink. He has a kris behind his back. The puppet has an articulated jaw. In the Mahabharata story he is a servant on the side of the Korawa; in the Ramayana on the side of Rahwana. Delem is rude, boastful and cowardly.
