
Śahnāī (sahnai/shahnai), oboe with reamed conical bore. The surface of the wooden body of the instrument stained and varnished a red-brown colour. Seven fingerholes. Nickel silver bell. The brass staple with wire binding fits into the top of the instrument. With cloth drawstring bag, and metal cigar box containing a disc-shaped plastic pirouette, five quadruplex (2 x 2) reeds and a reed guard tied onto a string, and a metal mandrel for reed making.
