There will be tree works in the Gardens this week – please follow signs on site. The lift will be out of service until Friday 28 June while we work on a replacement.
Japanese kettle, tetsubin 鉄瓶, and lid, with design in relief of trees, flowers and a crane. The hollow iron fukurobari handle imitates bamboo. Irregularities along the edge of the flange imitate rust damage to suggest age. The lid has the same texture and cherry blossom motif. Inscriptions.
