mask (dance & live theatre)

Carved wooden Bondres mask of Bujuh with face painted brownish orange. Lips, whicha re pursed as if blowing, are painted red with a black surrounding line. Snub nose, large staring eyes and raised eyebrows. The eyebrows and moustache are of animal skin and hair. Vertical lines painted on brow. A strip of black brasok stitched through the mask representing hair around the outer edge of the mask to a level with the upper lip. Secured when worn by a band of black rubber tied with string which passes through a hole in each side of the mask. With cloth bag.
