Raft zither with a body formed of nineteen internodes of bamboo. There are eleven (originally twelve) idiochord strings carved from the bark of the cane, overwound in the centre with bands of cane bark to tune the strings. Two carved sticks form the bridges that define the vibrating length of the strings. A gourd resonator is attached to the underside of the instrument.
