
Erhu and bow. Cylindrical wooden body bearing a paper label printed with the numerals '101'. The back is carved with a lattice in the form of a flower with six petals. There is a snakeskin (probably python skin) soundtable. The wooden neck, pegbox and dragon head finial is carved from one piece of wood. The body and neck are varnished. There are two fluted wooden pegs with white ends in the form of flowers. The strings, bridge and string holder at the end of the spike are missing. The bow is made from bamboo stick bent to form an integral handle, the head spliced to hold a hank of black and brown horsehair that is knotted through a hole in the stick at the proximal end.
