Shan basket for carrying cooked rice to the fields. On a foot formed of 2 lengths of wood crossing one another at the centre. A hole at each of the 4 ends of the cross, through which a strip of bamboo is inserted, lashing the basket at each corner to the front. The base of the basket is formed is square, formed of twill-woven bamboo strips on the inside, rising vertically and then narrowing to form a round neck and circular opening, the outer skin of finer strips also twill-woven.
