Spare strings consisting of coils of wire, ending with both a hitch-pin loop and a straight edge. A brown paper label, made out of a thin oblong of paper folded over and stuck together, is attached to the strings with the note the strings would make on the clavichord, if placed correctly, annotated on it.
These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database.
