Carved wooden figure of Kuan Yin (Goddess of Mercy), painted in red and gold. A variety of raised patterns cover the surface of the figure's robes. The figure previously belonged to the Church Missionary Society. An old exhibition label accompanying the object reads: 'Painted wooden figures of Kuan Yin'. The base and back of the figure feature a number of inscriptions in Chinese and English.
