Axe, wooden shaft with a curved wrought iron blade. The blade is attached to the shaft by a tang through the bulbous end which curves back into the wood; the other end of the shaft bears a large circular nodule. The tang is octagonal. Has brass staples covering the haft, except for the grip which should have brass and iron wire covering it but it is missing. Also many of the brass staples have been pulled out.
