spear (spear (weapons: missiles & projectors))

Spear, repaired shaft. Spear (iron head). Long, leaf-shaped blade with flat, tapering tang. Head fixed to shaft by binding the tang alongside the shaft with cane strip. The shaft has been broken in the middle and repaired with a binding of copper wire, which is probably the work of the collector, as it is not strong. Head protected with wooden sheath made in two halves bound by plaited cane strip. Inscription on one side of the sheath reads: 'Garunggang', and on the other in another script, possibly Javanese.
