bound foot boot

One of a pair of woman's bound foot boots of Northern style with upturned pointed toes and wide tubular shafts. The upper is of pink damask embroidered with insect and floral designs. The throat is of blue damask trimmed with gold foil and patterned ribbons. The boot shaft is of orange damask with a pale grey cotton top-band and a wide band of woven ribbon with butterflies and floral pattern below. Lined with stiffened white cotton. Arched wooden sole covered on sides with white ribbon with butterfly and floral pattern, pink damask on underside.
