





British-made wooden model of a crooked stern sampan, of a type used on the Yangtse river, below Chungqing. Decked boat with centre deckhouse. No rigging. Long sweeps. Length 12 ½ in. Height 3 1/8 in. Width 3 ¼ in.
Purchased in 1958 from George Worcester, the editor of 'The Mariner's Mirror'. Instructions for assembling the boat were printed in Volume 41, page 222 of the Mariner's Mirror 1955. The roof of matting was made by W. Majer, of North Wembley.
