Copper alloy lid for an iron kettle, which is flat and shiny in texture, with an inscription inside with four characters, reading: 'dragon, design, ?? made.' The third character is the maker's name but this has not yet been deciphered. The central knob of the lid is in the shape of a fruit, probably a persimmon and stem. Probably Meiji period.
