An ebony box with a hinged lid. The box is octagonal with two long sides, two hinges and a metal lock. The top and sides are decorated with borders inlaid with ivory, white metal, ebony and green and brown stone or coloured bone arranged in geometric patterns. On each side and the top is a carved panel with a vegetal design in relief. The lid also has a design of a dome roofed building.
