



Bronze statue of Avalokitesvara, Bodhisattva of Compassion, seated in a full lotus position on a lotus pedestal, clothed in royal garb of a long skirt which rests on the pedestal, flowing scarves and jewellery: necklaces, bracelets and a belt. Head topped with an ornate crown that encircles an ushnisha, a protuberance, on top of which Amitabha, the Buddha of the western paradise, is depicted. Elongated earlobes, downcast eyes and an urna, 'eye of foreknowledge' between the eyebrows. Four arms: two with palms held together in front of the chest in Namaskara, prayer, of the others the left holds a lotus flower and the right a rosary.
