A small castle spinning wheel. It is made predominantly of ebonised beech, with a rosewood treadle. According to accompanying documentation, the flier, right and left spindle holders and the finial are restorations. It has an moveable arm into which the distaff can be slotted (for spinning flax). The upper part of the distaff, the three legs and the wheel spokes have turned wood. There are small decorative elements made of ivory. The double drive band is made of linen. [Textile]
