Taxidermy case of adult male, adult female and three young Herring Gull. According ot Edward Hart, writing on 6 May 1927, 'Left (no 1): adult female, December 1879, winter plumage; right (no 2): adult male, March 1879, summer plumage; young, June 1879. Nos 1 and 2 shot by me in Christchurch Harbour. Young obtained near Freshwater, Isle of Wight. Sexes alike, summer and winter plumage differ. Mounted by me'.
