On the reverse there is raised decoration depicting a pine tree, a bamboo clump, a nanten (or nandin) tree, two cranes flying, a river, flowers and plants, and creatures resembling turtles in shape. There is an inscription on the left side reading 'tenka-ichi-?-?-inaba-no-kami-shigeyoshi', the last probably being the maker's name. 'Inaba' is a region of Japan.
