A skein winder? It has an 'H'-shaped base with a turned upright at each corner. Between two of the four uprights is a solid wheel on an axle. (One side has large floral motifs round the circumference.) Between the remaining two is another axle (?) There are vestiges of red, blue, green and white paint on the object. [Textile]
