The Horniman Museum will be closed from 24-26 December. The Horniman Gardens will be closed 25 December only.
A lidded basket of cylindrical form, standing on a straight foot, with an overhead handle with a loop atop and three stacking round trays as carriers for food. Made of a single-rod coiled rattan with cane stitching. The lid has a brass ring mounted on the top. Four pieces of rectangular brass plates are riveted on the upper part of the handle, both exterior and interior, for reinforcing the handle. There is a label affixed to the lid which is illegible.
These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database.
