box (containers); lid (containers)

A circular wooden box with a lid. The box appears to be lacquered and painted. The wood appears to have been turned, as there is a hole in the middle of the underside of the base, and signs of manufacture. The interior for the lid and the base are both painted vibrant green. Both parts of the object have a starburst pattern on the outer surfaces, in black, gold and orange. Label: one tag, printed and handwritten.

Some of this is incomplete and there may be errors. This part of the website is also still under construction, so there may be some fields repeated or incorrectly formatted information.

The database sometimes uses language taken from historical documents to help research, which may now appear outdated and even offensive. The database also includes information on objects that are considered secret or sacred by some communities.
