The Horniman Museum will be closed from 24-26 December. The Horniman Gardens will be closed 25 December only.
Cylindrical wooden box with a domed lid, decorated with a complex design featuring flowers, animals, and several human figures riding a horse, elephant, and camel. The rim of the box and lid are pigmented rid, and the interior is pigmented green. There is a black band around the bottom of the box and lid, decorated with small red crosses.
These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database. Some of this is incomplete and there may be errors. This part of the website is also still under construction, so there may be some fields repeated or incorrectly formatted information.
