pipe bowl (pipe (narcotics & intoxicants: smoking))

Schemnitz type pipe bowl made from stoneware that is a mottled brown and black colour. The bowl is tall and is octagonal in cross section and the stem connection is rounded and at a 45 degree angle. At the top of the bowl is a copper alloy, decorated band with a hinged, shallow, circular shaped lid with a geometric and leaf pattern with some piercing and an S-shaped latch to secure the lid. The stem connection is short with maker's marks on either side and a decorative, copper alloy covering on the end with a flattened loop.
