Painted clay figure of groom (Syce) wearing a blue coat, yellow dhoti, a blue and white turban and with a yellow cloth over his shoulder. Documentation with the object states that, "He is carrying his master's helmet and horse-rug. He looks after the horses and polo-ponies. Whenever his master rides, the Syre runs behind the horse, no matter how long the journey is."

Collection Information

These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database.
