Round brass coin of ten cash with a square hole at the centre, minted in the Xianfeng reign period, 1851-61, of the Qing dynasty. Around the square hole on the obverse is the Chinese inscription 'Xian Feng Zhong Bao' meaning Xianfeng important treasure. On the reverse the Chinese inscription of 'ten cash' is written from top to bottom, with Manchu inscriptions from right to left indicating that the coin was minted in Zhejiang province.
