spear (weapons: missiles & projectors)

A spear-type shaft. Wooden shaft, shaped and decorated as a spear, with pointed end. The main shaft decorated with a series of hair tufts bound on around the circumference with twisted white cotton thread. The red tufts at the top and bottom are longer and hanging down away from the pointed end. The short central tufts are in black, white and red bands. The short plain section at the end of the shaft has been drilled out, and is now split, with internal grooved markings that correspond to the metal screw thread on one part, as though these could have been joined together.
