Scabbard for double-edged sword, jian, made of wood and covered with shagreen. The scabbard is mounted with brass chape and three rings encircle the middle section, two of them with holes on top through which pass cotton cords for carrying. The brass fittings are all engraved with leafy scroll-work. In addition, the chape has openwork and waves near the tip. The upper ring has a Chinese character, 'long', meaning dragon, the second ring has a dragon amid the leafy scroll-work. Locket is missing.
