White cotton sock (tabi).Sole of thick densely woven cotton; upper thinner fabric. Lining of white lint or felt. Three metal loops (kohaze) to one side of opening at heel with impressed designs on each: 1. 'Mon sen' (old style indicator of size, in fact a coin from the Edo period) and '23.5' new indicator of size. 2 and 3. Maker's mark. These fix into a double row of strings on the other side of the heel opening. 232 long x 92 w x 115 h.
