One of a pair of sandals made from almost flat quasi-rectangular slab of light wood, very slightly shaped to reflect contours and outline of foot. Raised very slightly at heel and across beneath ball of foot. Painted on upper surface of sole at toe and heel in black, with at rear a dotted red line and at toe end double dotted red line and floral spray. Strap of brown velvet with cream lining passes through sandal between toes and is secured below with metal plate. Passes to either side of foot, rejoining at rear where it is secured above the sole by means of a piece of dark green leather covering the strap and nailed to the sole beneath the wearer's heel.
