Terracotta plate with white slip and sgraffito decoration highlighted with yellow and green pigment (yellow ochre and copper oxide?), central motif of male figure with pipe supported by a branched twig in the smoker's hand, surrounded by floral borders and inscription. The letters 'HM'to the left of the figure, the date 1786 with two figures each side of his head. Outer underside glazed in marbled effect black and brown. Integral element for suspension at centre top on the reverse. On the reverse, written in pencil, are the words 'Between windows'.
