




Oni (demon) mask, of wood covered in gesso, with two deer horns at top of head and round apertures at centre of eyes, which are forward-facing and have traces of gilt. Beard, moustache and eyebrows are of animal fur, hair on top and sides of head indicated with paint. Two ridges at top of skull meet in a V shape above the forehead. Reverse lacquered in black and gilt spray. Handwritten label in Japanese script on reverse, and red label with indecipherable inscription including the number 13. 365h x 335 w x 130 d.
