A man's large, rectangular songket sarong, highly decorated with silver-coloured weft patterning. The red ground (cotton warp and silk weft) has a broad central panel ('kepala') consisting of a pattern of opposing triangles ('pucuk rebung' or 'bamboo shoots'). This is flanked by a row of linked heart-shaped motifs and, towards the selvedges, a single row of linked diamonds and a finer, elongated diamond lattice pattern. All this patterning is worked in continuous supplementary weft. This sarong would be worn over trousers. [Textile]
