mask (dance & live theatre)

Painted mask carved from one piece of wood, with the lower part of the back open. The front depicts a face that is probably a female character, and has an aperture below each eye through which the wearer could see. The face is bordered above by a decorative band. Above is a tall headdress with openwork motifs of flowers, one at the front, one at the back, one each at the sides, and one over the top if the head.
