Shoulder guard, sode, of five horizontal layers of black lacquered leather with blue lacings (black/white/green for the outermost lacings) and bear fur trim below. Stencilled leather and copper alloy chrysanthemum decoration on upper shoulder. On inside a wide vertical strip of red leather which holds the whole piece together, at the bottom of which some horn toggles which are used to secure the shoulder guards to the sleeves.
