The Horniman Museum will be closed from 24-26 December. The Horniman Gardens will be closed 25 December only.
Knife with a rectangular iron blade, which has been broken off at the tip. The blade is stamped with two hallmarks, one sword-shaped, the other resembling an acorn. The base of the handle is iron, and joins to a roughly carved wooden end which is hexagonal in cross-section and has a bulbous, rounded tip.
These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database. Some of this is incomplete and there may be errors. This part of the website is also still under construction, so there may be some fields repeated or incorrectly formatted information.
