Rod Taylor
Rod studied Human Resource Management and has a broad background in leadership within the culture sector.
This includes a series of senior roles within the Science Museum Group, at The Hepworth Wakefield and, since 2014, as Chief Operating Officer with the Royal Armouries Museum.
He has also worked in social care in the cooperative sector and was appointed as a Trustee with Sheffcare 2010-16.
Rod has had extensive involvement in growing commercial income streams to sustain museums. He joined the Trustee Board of the Association for Cultural Enterprise in 2015, serving for nine years alongside an appointment in 2016 as a non-executive director with Horniman Museum Enterprises.
He has a longstanding connection with the Horniman and has greatly enjoyed seeing the growth of the Museum and the intense commitment to it from local communities, having grown up himself in nearby Charlton. He was delighted to be given the opportunity to join the Trustee Board of the Horniman Museum and Gardens in 2024 and hopes to contribute wherever he can to help sustain the oragnisations future development and success.
