Yesomi Umolu
Yesomi Umolu is an arts leader, artist champion and advocate for inclusive museums. She is currently Director of Curatorial Affairs and Public Practice at Serpentine in London.
Yesomi Umolu is an experienced arts leader and curator working at the intersection of art and architecture. Most recently, she was the Director of Curatorial Affairs and Public Practice at Serpentine, overseeing the artistic program and curatorial team.
As Artistic Director of the 2019 Chicago Architecture Biennial, Umolu oversaw a critically acclaimed curatorial program featuring new commissions and city-wide installations with over 80 international contributors. Yesomi served on the curatorial advisory board for the United States Pavilion at the 16th Venice Architecture Biennale. She was a trustee of the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts in Chicago. An occasional runner and avid fan of modern architecture and design, Yesomi lives in Forest Hill with her son and husband.
