Mayowa Ochere appointed Trustee for the Horniman Museum and Gardens

Mayowa Ochere has been appointed as a new Trustee for the Horniman Museum and Gardens

The Board of the Horniman Public Museum and Public Park Trust, which runs the Horniman, has appointed Mayowa Ochere to its Board of Trustees.

Mayowa brings with her valuable experience in the financial, education and communications sectors.

Mayowa works as a policy adviser within Her Majesty’s Treasury covering financial services and tax policy, and has previously worked for the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government and global communications firm Brunswick.

She also serves as a Governor at Kelvin Grove Primary School in the London Borough of Lewisham and was previously a trustee at First Story charity, which improves access to creative writing for young people in secondary schools serving low-income communities.

As a born and bred South Londoner, I am excited to contribute to the best that London has to offer as trustee for the Horniman. I have fond memories of visiting the Museum and Gardens as a child, and I look forward to building on the Horniman's successes by working with a great team to implement our ambitious strategy over the coming years.
Mayowa Ochere
We are delighted to welcome Mayowa to the Horniman. Her appointment to the Board comes at an exciting and challenging time for the Horniman as it develops a 10-year strategic vision for the future. As the only museum in London where nature and culture can be seen side by side the Horniman is committed to diversifying audiences, delivering greater social and environmental impacts, improving the use of its collections and building a more sustainable business for visitors to enjoy for years to come. We look forward to working with Mayowa and welcome her valuable contribution in achieving this goal.
