Become a Horniman Benefactor

Please consider becoming a Horniman Benefactor and give the Museum and Gardens a valuable financial lifeline.

Although the Horniman’s core work has been paid for by a Grant-in-Aid from the DCMS, support from our community is playing an increasingly vital part in our funding picture. And with cuts to our grant expected in coming years, committed support will play a vital part in helping to fill this growing funding gap.

By donating a minimum of £20 a month, or £240 a year, Horniman Benefactors provide a valuable source of ‘unrestricted’ income - that we can use where the need is greatest in the coming years.

How your money helps

  • £40 will feed the jellyfish for one week
  • £240 will pay for the annual clean of the walrus
  • £600 pays for our annual fuel costs to mow the lawns of the award-winning Horniman Gardens
  • £960 purchases a stacker unit for our Study Collections Centre, enabling us to move and store our objects safely.

What Do You Get In Return?

  • Invites to Private Views to meet our specialist curators and staff
