While our Gardens remained open, the Museum was closed for large parts of the pandemic.
We have put in place cost-saving measures, but our income will be dramatically affected for years to come due to Covid closures.
We are asking for your help and there has never been a more important time to support the Horniman.
The Horniman is a registered charity. While we receive some government funding, we need to find around £2.4 million each year to fund our running costs from our Members, Patrons and visitors, who choose to keep supporting us every year.
As well as enabling us to care for our collections and Gardens – and feed the goats, sheep and alpacas – this money helps us put on exciting exhibitions and events throughout the year. It supports our work with some of south London’s most disadvantaged schoolchildren and marginalised groups. We couldn’t do this without you and the support you give us.
There are many ways to help. You can support us with our crowdfunder to reopen our Natural History Gallery. You can donate to our 125 Anniversary Appeal, or make an online donation. Join the Horniman Patrons or become a Member. You can also tap to donate in the Museum when you visit.
Other ways you can help support the Horniman and our work include corporate sponsorship of an exhibition to leaving a lasting legacy in your will.
