Rolf Killius

Biography

Rolf Killius specialises as an exhibition curator, ethnomusicologist (MMus SOAS, London University), sound recordist, film producer and editor and radio journalist. In all these fields, and in the delivery of music, dance and arts events, his work is especially related to India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan. Between 2000 and 2007 he made collections of modern examples of traditional musical instruments for the Horniman Museum in Kerala, Orissa, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. He also made films and sound recordings of the instruments in performance for the World and Traditional Music Collection of the British Library Sound Archive as part of a collaboration between the BLSA and the Horniman Museum. He co-curated the Horniman Museum’s major temporary exhibition of 2008, Utsavam - Music from India.
