Storytelling and ‘Matchbox Pet’ making

Join author illustrator Ruby Wright for a special story telling of her picture book ‘Invisible Dogs’ which is all about making friends, looking after invisible pets and being brave at school.

How do you spot an invisible pet? Join author, illustrator and printmaker Ruby Wright for a special storytelling of her picture book ‘Invisible Dogs’.

With the help of Ruby’s invisible-pet detector (a UV light) and smell-cannon, children will become experts at spotting invisible pets. They’ll then get crafty kitting out a matchbook home for their very own invisible pet.

Craft materials will be provided, and books will be available to buy and have signed and dedicated at the event. All children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event.

About the author

Ruby studied sculpture, worked at the BBC and took a foray into printmaking before embarking on a career in picture books, publishing Animal Crackers in 2023 and now celebrating Invisible Dogs which publishes in 2024. She can play the musical saw and is a dab hand at growing orchids! She lives in London with her family and no pets (well maybe some invisible ones).
