The Enchanted Cinema: The Snowman
Back by popular demand, ‘The Enchanted Cinema Presents The Snowman’ glides across the towns and cities of the UK to the Horniman for another winter!
Join us as we prepare scenes from the 1982 animated film using instruments from around the world – tree-frog guiros and butterfly charango from South America, Greek lyre harp, African thumb piano, Chinese Wind Gong, South Asian Gopichand and other ingenious foley sound FX.
You’ll use these instruments, hands and voices to help create the soundtrack to this well-loved animated classic, teaming up to become a magical orchestra.
The 30-minute workshop is followed by a 30-minute screening of Dianne Jackson’s magical film. A final highlight – try out instruments after the show or draw a postcard for the collection inspired by the animation.
